About this category
This award recognises a software, platform, infrastructure or site reliability engineer whose technical work over the last twelve months stands out. Judges look for the quality and impact of the work, and how the engineer helps colleagues do better work too.

Open to individual engineers at any level in any UK organisation.

Additional criteria
Entries should include a concise case study, supporting figures such as users, uptime, performance, revenue or time saved, and, where possible, feedback from customers or users. Commercially sensitive figures can be given as ranges or percentages, and nothing in an entry is shared beyond the judging panel. Never include credentials, security vulnerabilities that are not yet fixed, or personal data about users. Judges consider the size and stage of the business, so a start up competes on equal terms with an established technology company.
